Prejudices

Well! If there is something that makes me angrier than when talking
about prejudice, I'd like to know what it is. Some people seem to have
fears based on the unknown which, when let loose, can lead to major
problems.
Let's take an example here. Hating and condeming people for their
sexual attractions. Is that fair? I'm not saying that I condone the
behaviour of someone's so-called "bad boys", but hating the relatives,
colleagues or anyone connected with them in anyway; is that
right?
I am inclined to think a resounding no!
Prejudice. It's based on fear. Fear of the unknown or ignorance.
Ignorance can be bliss. But it is also very very dangerous. People
ignorant of what the real situation is or the real issue are often
blindly following what they think to be right.
Perhaps it is their social conditioning, perhaps not, but maybe they
should seek the real truth behind the matter before judging so quickly
and harshly.
We see this prejudice and fear all the time. It is apparent in our
everyday lives! It is very much up to us whether or not we choose to
see it.
Irael/Palestine. Over-zealous beliefs leading to a warped logic and
knowledge of the faith they think they uphold so truthfully. The faith
preachs love and forgiveness. So in order to spread love and
forgiveness, we kill and maim. Does anyone else see the utter
illogicality of this statement?
This has stemmed from little niggles, such as condemning a person for
the sexual attractions. That could lead to hating someone for their
second cousin three times removed. Yes, it's ridiculous and that's why
I'm writing this.
We have to see through these petty differences.
We have to see the real truth.
If we choose not to see, to realise, to understand, then fear will lead
to hate, thence on to suffering and death.
Is that what we really want?
