Vampires

I have always loved the romantic dangerous folk lore of the
vampire.
The pale skin, black robes and stereotypically cliched quiet
demeanour.
The real deal is, perhaps, somewhat different.
Vampires are called Revenants; the Reawakened.
Far from being gaunt, pale, thin and bewitched, they are often seen to
be in the best of health.
After death, a ruddy complexion, new skin and nails grown in place of
the old and a slight bloating of the abdomen is apparent to give the
impression of glowing life.
So my romantic image of a vampire is just a gothic darling.
The real vampires walk amongst us.
