GOD HELP US FACE THIS ENEMY.

God help us face this enemy; this new cancer in the world
That hides within earth's shadows, doesn't show a flag unfurled
Invisible and treacherous, it rains down from the sky
And leaves so many grieving, who just now, ask how and why?

Without a face, without a heart; it strikes at freedom's core
And symbols of that freedom, have now crashed upon earth's floor
But now, from within ashes; freedom's phoenix will arise
For every loving human now; can hear their brother's cries

The love that's now evolving, is a love of which we're sure
Within this crazy world, it is the one thing that is pure
And as we search the remnants, in this aftermath of shock
The love that we are building, will now be our future's rock

Please give to us your wisdom Lord, that we now surely need
For just now we are helpless, and this is a time we bleed
But there'll be a tomorrow, which will be a brand new day
So please give us that wisdom now; don't let us go astray

If retribution has to be, teach us its shape and form
For retribution sometimes, can create a darker dawn
We all, are just of flesh and blood; mere humans who react
But for all our children's futures, help us keep this world
intact

Please help us be united, be united throughout time
So no more we will suffer, that in evil violent minds
Please give us all a calmness now; within theses days of grief
Help us rebuild the futures hope; please give us that belief

So sometime in the future; we can all hold hands and say
That we were all a part. of the love we built today
God help us face this enemy, God help us play a part
Make us the generation; that can give the world a heart
