"Sorry. I said when I spilt the water.
Sorry. I said when I ruined your blue shirt.
Sorry. I said when I'd hit your sister.
No sorry this time I'll let nature do the work."
I knew what you wanted
You wanted a poem, or a sonnet, or a song
You wanted me to pool all my sorryness
Into a creative swirl of need and love
And I couldn't
I knew what you wanted
You wanted me to grovel, plead and beg
You wanted me to pool all my sorryness
Into asking your undying forgiveness
And I wouldn't
So instead
I gave you a leaf
You sighed and trew it to the floor
"What goods that for?"
