I remember that first sudden notion
That you marked my memory,
I intrinsically can recall the impression
Before I took you from yourself
And placed you on a pedestal
Whence you came of unusual wealth.
Richer my wits of the odd illusion
Now there you are in my hand; done,
A creased image of something before
Something I touched something gone.
There you are, complete in my mind
Blanket to the past quilt sewn,
Pieces of the cloth, all mine to define.
