The stillness,
Overpowering,
Overbearing,
The last memories of a voice,
Fading,
Being driven away,
In a speeding car,
By teenage joyriders,
Emptiness,
Wet lonely emptiness,
Just a ticking Watch,
With another Scotch,
Remembering,
The fading image of a broken smile,
Or things you said,
Promises made,
Things inside your head,
Dying with you,
Your secrets Dying with you,
But the emptiness won't die,
For the moment let it fill,
Fill with our tears,
Until the Stillness washes,
Washes clean the Saline Sea,
And let not our huddle of grief,
Ease your passing,
Or our forgotten goodbyes,
That could never be said.
