My Mum

My mother passed away from cancer this year
And while lying in her hospital bed
My sister asked "mum do you fear"
Mum said "no I do not"
Through all her suffering there was never a tear.

We all sat around thinking of times so gay
I thought of the one when I had first met my wife
And she had given me a lovebite on the neck
I got my mum to say
"Here Ad?le have you not been fed today"
"you were a bad we bugger"she said to me
It's the last thing I remember
Before she was set free
All the pain and suffering had to cease
Mother dearest
