Pilgrim Thoughts in 2002 on diary written in 1950

Present day thoughts (2002) on Pilgrimage to Rome which I wrote in
1950

This was a diary I kept during my 12 day pilgrimage. I have copied
exactly what I wrote in 1950.

I do not think I would write in the same way today. I do not believe
things so easily such as that St.
Paul was martyred in Rome. There is no evidence for that in the
Bible
My faith ha matured and I am not so interested in obscure legends which
may or may not be true.
Whether what I saw was a piece of the True Cross would be very hard to
prove. Carbon dating might
identify the wood as being 2000 years old but that is not proof.
I am still a Christian. Nowadays we Catholics go to ecumenical and
inter-faith services. It is better today
than in 1950.
