Professional detachment

Professional detachment,
is what it takes,
Turned head,
Eyes unlooking,
But your mind,
your mind is another master,
Because it all goes on in there,
The trusting,
Deceiving yourself,
Winding the cord tighter around suspicions,
Writing poetry in your arguments with others,
Justifying in eloquent sentences,
Then discovering that real life doesn't work like that,
And the ordered brain,
Struggles with the messiness,
Turns off to cope,
Forming a professional detachment,
Against all your instincts.
