Reflections

I sit and think about who I am today,
There are some facts but life isn't all simple,
If it was I'd be a complicated woman.

I used to believe; life would be better,
There is love around but we never shared it,
If you were near, I'd still be the same.

I used to be certain everything was golden,
There is sunshine, but every ray turned from me,
If you had eluded me, I'd be happy now.

I sit and think about you and your life;
There is love in you but it will never be for me,
If only it was, I would have been happy then.

I think about time and the years between,
There are some changes, I could not stay the same,
If I had, I'd be boring.

I think about my work and of our son,
There is a father for him, somewhere in this world,
If only, I could find someone to care.
