totter by this pebbledash outhouse of otherworldly love
crouching between the terraces,
pleased as a little miracle.

It promises good news to the suburbs
with their chicken-perfume and imperfectly loved children;
it calls towards itself beams from elsewhere
and yet the panes hardly rattle.
