THE SAND PIPERS TUNE
I'm lonely and I Wan'a die,
Eroding will as I look at the sky.
Suns rays have filtered me dry,
Legs already stumbling how hard I try.
Internal casing slowly revealing cracks.
Eyes entranced by the endless beat,
Feet followed the rhythm of the shimmering heat.
Fresh grain covered up my disappearing tracks.
Sand in my mouth, covered in a frock of grit,
Legs buckle I surrender to the beams and sit.
Fatigued head slumped foreword once more,
Tiny hot digits slowly pick at my core.
Soon inconspicuous as a neighboring dune,
The end came quickly to the sand pipers tune.
