Virtual Pier
This is the age of the Virtual Pier,
The one no none visits,
Or dares go near,
The one that floats at the bottom of the sea,
The one we ignore,
Our eyesore fear,
Well what's new?
The Palace daytime gloat,
Your ship's at sea,
(It will not float),
You are the Pier,
And it will continue,
Until the sun sets in the West,
And then at night by light,
By kind bequest,
Of the people of Brighton,
Who want to see you,
Out at sea,
The great 'West Pie'
The sign you see,
Gave more away,
Than ever you thought,
A piece of you we all have bought,
A souvenir,
A sandy relic,
A stone, a sign,
Not much more,
Be here,
Brighten the shore,
For Brighton's known you once,
It just wants more.
