Weeping Willows

I don't see happiness other souls see
The leaves on the trees aren't green for me
When others smile, my lips smile too
But look in my eyes; you'll see they're blue

I hide my sadness though the pain cuts deep
The willow trees just stand and weep
While nature grows with every day
My heart inside just withers away

I do have memories of happier days
When birds would sing through the morning haze
But love took a turn and so did my fate
My baby is gone and now it's too late

I look to the future but cannot see
If flowers will ever bloom for me
I try so hard to fill my heart
But the loss of my baby just tears me apart
