When the World

When the world tips on its axis,
And we all fall on our arses.
When the buildings all fall down,
And the acid rain dances.
When the animals start to stalk us,
And we’re avoiding falling trees.
When the heavens open,
And waves are higher on the seas.
When the fire rages
And the heat becomes too much.
When all our structures crumble,
And our lives turn to dust.
When the world goes crazy and nature rebels,
Will we look upon the madness,
And hear the death knells?
Will we realise what we did,
And completely blame ourselves?
Will we rush to save the planet,
And salve all her wounds?
Will we know it’s too late,
And feel complete fools?
Will we look for someone else to blame,
And fight amongst ourselves?
Damning different religions,
To a thousand different hells.
Will we lie and say,
‘An act of God or natural disaster’?
Or will we know deep inside,
We killed the world’s laughter?
