The dinosaurs, the dinosaurs!
Oh what a mighty reign!
Such wildness and such wonder,
Will ne'er be seen again.
Such shapes, such shapes and sizes!
Such beaks, and tails, and crests,
Nature must have had some fun,
Deciding which were best!
Such mighty, marvellous monsters
Must have thundered flat the Earth!
Whilst dear and doting duckbills,
Cared for their young from birth.
Such cretaceous carnivores!
Such tearing teeth and jaws!
And then such skill and power -
The Baronyx fishing claw!
Lithe and lovely lizard folk?
Barbaric, brutal beasts?
Whatever they were, they were wonderful!
But now their reign has ceased.
Now it's our turn.
