Paranoid

I'm not paranoid
But when you say go
I stop, look and listen.
Yes, you can show,
But I'll make no submission;
When the green man says walk
I'll still obey red.
It's better than crossing
And ending up dead.
Amber's a gamble if you choose then to amble;
A hospital bed can await you on red;
And green men don't mean you can always be seen,
So I think I'll take my chances in the subway instead.
In the subway, watch out for gamblers and muggers,
Pimps and whores and crackheads and buggers.
In the twitch of a wrist they'll have your throat cut;
They'll have your wallet, your watch and even your butt.
When the barrier says enter
You'd best watch your back
If you make one false step
You'll be snared in their trap.
At the end of the escalator
keep a cool head
make sure that you jump
Or you'll get torn to shreds.
And if you drink water
Don't drink from the tap
Get it in bottles
Or you might get the clap.
If you make it back home
Pray to God on arrival,
For He knows the odds
Were against your survival.
