In Stone

I have memorised this moment in stone
And I'm still reeling to this very day
Feeling like I've yet to catch my breath
When I watched your father give you away

Your beauty in one moment
Was at once blinding and astounding
I have never seen nor expect to see
A sight more wondrous or unbounding

And everyday I catch you looking at me
With the slightest recognition of that time
Is a day I long to frame and then proclaim
That I am yours and you are mine.
