Pondering

I sit here pondering the purpose of human existence. Why are we
here? That is the all time question. Are we an experiment created by
God? Left to have free reign over a world in which we are nothing but
insects to, infesting every crevasse until we have to start executing
the weak and useless. Or have we already started doing that? Some of
the diseases we have mingling with us today haven't been around
forever. Is that because evolution does exist? Nothing exists without a
creator. Have we conjured these up, and for what purpose?
Maybe when we have depleted this worlds resources we will just move on
to another. Take over and infest just like we did this one. Whose to
say that this is the first planet that humans have existed on. Perhaps
two humans came to this planet long ago. One male one female. Perhaps
they called themselves Adam and Eve, and every single human that has
ever existed on this planet after that is the result of an insestial
union. That would explain a lot. Yes, that makes sense, or does
it?
Was Darwin right? Did we start from scum on the bottom of the ocean?
Did a mutant fish with arms and legs that was exiled as a freak from
his society because he had to breath air decide that this swimming
stuff is for the creatons. Its time to move to land. Lets try walking
out. Maybe that is it. But where is that mutant fish now.
Why are we here? To be tested to see how we lead our lives. By whom?
What do we get in the end? Do we get to spend the rest of eternity in
the presence of the almighty God if we pass the tests of life thrown so
violently at us? But if God knows everyone's heart to begin with and he
loves each of us, then why make us go through the torture. Just choose
the favorites and damn the rest to hell. Or is it for entertainment.
Are we nothing but puppets on this stage we call earth. They say all
the world is a stage, and if that is so, where is the audience? Do we
get resurrected to gain more knowledge than the previous life? But if
that is true, and you have no recollection of it, how are you building
on what you supposedly had? And do you ever gain all the knowledge
there is to have? Then where do we go? To join all of our predecessors
that have lived many lives before us and acquired all there is to know.
I can understand that. If I were to spend the rest of eternity in one
place I would certainly want to be surrounded by people that I could at
least have a descent conversation with, which is a lot more than I can
say for my present day location.
So why are we here? Does it matter? If we knew, would it change
anything? Probably, but we don't. Maybe every religious deity that has
ever been conjured up is sitting up in the skies around a big poker
table counting tallies on how many of us they can get to worship them.
Who will win, and what do they win?
I guess it comes down to faith. If you must have something to get you
through this life, choose your beginning and your supreme being, and
start chewing massive amounts of gum, because no matter what you decide
to believe in, there a lot of little loopholes that are going to need
patching up.
