Toothache!!

Toothache gnawing at my jaw,
sending spasms through me.
I can feel only pain
that makes my head thump
and my heart race
until I take a sip of water.

Cooling the agony but burning cold,
I hold it for a second
and then swallow, dissolve.
Relief for a minute before it begins
and I suck the cold air greedily,
a cycle of pain before the next sip.

Toothache!! Toothache!! Toothache!!
