Bitter Revenge

What was that saying? Cry havoc and let's slip the dogs of
war.
Andrew cried havoc. So Mina who failed to offer an olive branch decided
to slip the dogs of war.
The only thing he could think of was the pretty new girl in school.
Heba had captured his adolescent heart. Never being interested in him
intamitely, she remained his best friend for eight months until his
jealousy got the best of him when she started dating another guy.
They did make up. Mina could still call her. Maybe he can even trust
her; turn her against Andrew. They seem to be becoming good friends
now. He tried to stop that last year. Told her Andrew didn't talked
about her behind her back and advised her to stay away from him. They
must have recconciled in those four months of summer when Mina was in a
fight with both Heba and Andrew.
He shuddered when he thought back to last summer. Very lonely and
secluded. He had made a feeble attempt to make up with Andrew, but
Andrew was adamant. He even called Heba when he found out she had
broken up with her boyfriend to say goodbye before he left for
America.
Meeting a few girls there felt empty to him. He didn't get constant
e-mails from his friends back in Egypt, and Andrew didn't visit him
while he was residing in Washington, like they had planned.
Mina picked up the phone and dialed Heba's numer. She picked up after
three rings. The sound of her "hello" made memories flood his
brain.
He smiled nostalgically at the memory of her concerned face when he
told her he coulnd't play water polo after his knee operation. "Hey,
Captain!" He said. Just like he used to say every time he called her
back then. When they were still so close. Almost as close as she was to
Andrew now. Well, he'd have to change that.
