The Daily Muse - Saturday - December, 10, 2011

Last night we watched Cowboys and Aliens, and it could not suck any more if it tried. Last Friday night it was Larry Crowne with Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts. It sucked a little less, but still sucked. I believe Julia Roberts had her emotions removed before filming. I think she thought she was supposed to be in Cowboys and Aiens. Because she would have made an excellent alien, if Larry Crowne had been an alien movie. Well, it was an alien movie of sorts. Alien to good movie making.

Tom Hanks was, again, Tom Hanks. Someone give this man another Gump or Private Ryan role. Something a little less fluffy than Larry Crowne. This was one step below a 'chic flick', it was a girlie movie.

In Cowboys and Aliens Daniel Craig was his usual bad ass self, but Harrison Ford couldn't make up his mind what he wanted to be. He tried to be a bad guy and wasn't very good at it. He's good at being Harrison Ford, which is actually just Han Solo transposed with slight shadings into all the other role he's played since. It's not a complaint. I like Harrison Ford movies. Just not Cowboys and Aliens.
