THE TAUGHT LINE
Step onto the tightrope
And keep your back straight
Don't turn around, look ahead it's too late
There are already people behind you in line
Ready to push you to save their own lives
Take it slow very slow
Step by step here you go, you're slowly slowly crawling
You strain your eyes to the end of the line
And you slowly watch people falling
Keep your head up high, don't look down or around
Look at the place where you're meant to reach
Your future, your hope your fate and destiny
In front of you someone is tripping
You lend them a hand preventing a fall
And then stand up straight pride makes you grow tall
That person you've helped keeps his hand by your sides
Making sure you're safely on the line
Guarding and protecting your life, till he's made sure
You've reached the right place
People below you are tugging at your feet
Remain calm and patient or you'll lose your step
Stable land gets closer; soon you'll be safe
You've made many companions along the way
Don't hasten your footsteps wait your turn, keep your place
As you reach the end of the line you smile
To yourself, ok you've tripped sometimes
But we all make mistakes
You've earned it the hard way, got to where you wanted to be
You've passed life's test
And now you are free.
