The Beginning of the End
This time last year
I lay in this bed alone
I closed my eyes
I fell within myself.
And I prayed in this bed, on my own
For your love and acceptance
For your praise and devotion
Tomorrow, I would be blessed
By your lips and your arms
Then your spleen and your gall
Excreted from your mind
And barred from your eyes.
Each day your presence would add
To my incompleteness
And lesson my spirit
Until I saw you standing, with baited breath
Though I had planned to spit in your eyes
I compromised
And met their magnetism
Then we made love in this bed
I'm alone.
So after loving and losing
Then loving and losing
Freeing and choosing
Using, abusing.
I stand her tall and proud
A full revolution later
For I deserve more than the value you place upon me.
More than the value I place upon you.
For this is the beginning of the end.
