Understanding

in darkness the boy sits in his bedroom
so comfortable wallowing in his gloom
and with only music to keep him sane
his parents are the cause of all his pain
wondering why they have to fight
and why dad hit mom just the other night
he tries to ignore but they curse so loud
of their gay son its clear they are not proud
his father blames him for all he can
by no means an understanding man
the boy is so upset
with such ridicule he's met
and all because the way he was born
from all the pain hes harbored,his heart is torn
the boy didnt ask to be this way
h'es hoping his dad shall understand someday
but in his heart of hearts he knows he never will
and with such ice cold tears his eyes they fill
the boy is told he shall go to hell
just like the angel gabriel that fell
but it couldnt be worse than this life he is living
never receiving,and yet always giving
showing love for his parents though they dont take his hand
or show any compassion,or even try understand
because no matter how much they try to deny
their son is gay, to accept they must try
