End of the Innocence
When you left, did you know this flat disc would carry you in it?
It's smooth surface holds angry eyes
And lies,
And your shouting
That still rings in my ears when I press play.
The song smells of you.
Track number six:
'The End of the Innocence'.
That's what you've done,
You've ended it all.
From the speakers, you appear like a mist,
That burns my throat
And makes my skin wrinkle and fold
Until there's nothing left,
And no sound.
The voices have died.
They utter no noise but have turned into bone, then
Dust on my shelf.
Hearts and lungs have dried
And I am silent.
Just
Like
You.
