The Crown Room

Jimmy and I were playing in a new part of heaven; it was a place
that we had never explored before. Heaven is full of wonder and great
adventures. What a cool place! Jimmy and I had lived together during
our mortal time?we fished, hiked and camped out together. Isn't it
wonderful now that we are here in heaven that God lets us pal around
together! God is so wonderful and heaven is such a marvelous place! We
never run out of things to do or wonderful people to meet. But
sometimes we like to go exploring?heaven is so large and fascinating
that I often think all of eternity will not be long enough to see all
its wonder.
After a tasty breakfast Jimmy and I ran off to explore. There really
are no Saturday's in heaven but today felt like a summer Saturday and
we had the whole day to run, laugh, play and explore. We headed in a
new direction and found ourselves in a huge forest, with streams, oak
trees and lots of animals. It was the perfect place for us to play and
explore! We ran along the paths and splashed in the streams and laughed
out of sheer joy of the wonder of it all. We came to a clearing and in
the middle of the clearing was a grand castle. The largest castle we
had ever seen! It's beauty and majesty made us stop and admire it for a
long minute. But then we couldn't wait to go inside so we hurried along
the path to the castle.
When we arrived at the large front gate and we knocked on the very
large and very beautiful wooden door. An angel greeted us kindly and
asked how he could help us. We said we would love to come inside. The
angel opened the massive door as if it was made out of cardboard and
invited us in. He gave us a tour of a small portion of castle and then
invited us to lunch. We ate in the kitchen with the other Angels who
all seemed to be coming from some kind of workplace. We asked our angel
friend what they were doing and he said they were working on
crowns.
"Crowns?" Jimmy said.
"Yes, crowns," the angel replied. "They are to be given to all God's
children at an appointed time."
"When oh when?" Jimmy and I replied hurriedly.
The angel was patient with the young boys and replied, "only God knows
the time?until then you be patient and enjoy heaven." .
After lunch, the angel had to get back to his work and told us that we
could explore the rest of the castle at our leisure. We decided to
check out the dungeon?I mean, this is a castle so there has to be a
dungeon right? Or don't they have dungeons in heaven castles? With the
prospects of finding out more about heaven, this castle and how it all
fits together we started down the massive staircase leading to the
basement or dungeon or whatever there might be down there.
We came upon a very large door made of brilliant steel or but it
glistened like it was gold. The large door was sort of transparent and
we could see that the room inside was well lit and there were angels
moving around inside. The problem was?the huge door had no handle.
Jimmy and I tried to get a better look by pressing our faces against
the door, but suddenly the door started to slowly open. We were
surprised that such a huge door could be opened so easily. We decided
to sneak in and try to remain unseen by the angels. When we opened the
door we immediately went to the left and ducked behind a huge
shelf?then we saw that the room was huge?largest room we had ever seen
in heaven?it was full of shelves?and on the shelves were crowns. The
angels were busy working among the shelves. They were polishing and
adding jewels to the crowns throughout the large room. They worked as
if they knew which crown needed an extra diamond and which needed
another sapphire. All the crowns were so beautiful!
We were close to some of the crowns on the shelf we were hiding
behind. I decided to inspect one a bit closer. Reaching up carefully, I
selected a crown that had a lot of jewels on it. It was beautiful and
very well made. Interesting design and oh how the jewels glistened in
the light! I noticed in the crown there was an inscription, it read,
"To my good and faithful servant Thelma."
I gasped. "What! This was grandma Thelma's crown? My grandma's
crown!"
Don't ask me how I knew?I just knew. Boy, did she have a nice crown! It
was then I realized that everyone in heaven must have a crown in here.
Jimmy and I decided to look for our crowns. Unfortunately, one of the
angels caught us snooping and directed us to the door and said we would
get our crowns soon enough. No problem, Jimmy and I thought we have
tons of time and there is a lot of heaven left to explore anyway.
