Bundle of Joy

We were expecting a bundle of joy,
I went out and bought a toy.
I felt like the cow who jumped the moon,
I had no idea things would change so soon.
We had started to pick a name,
Hopefully we would choose the same.

We went to the shops for babystuff,
My god there was so much, it was tuff.
I looked at Kara and said "pink or blue,"
We got some clothes and booty's too.
Kara looked great and really well,
But as we know now, time would tell.

We went for a scan and saw the heart beat,
It was so small, but ever so neat.
I looked at Kara and smiled so broadly,
She looked at me and said it's a girl surely.
We both went home happy as larry,
Kara was happy for baby she would carry.

Twelve weeks was up and something was wrong,
In the car to the hospital, we were gone.
I was scared and didn't know what to do,
I looked at Kara and I know she was too.
The doctor came in and said things were not well,
By the look on her face, we both could tell.

We lost our little bundle of joy,
But i have kept that very first toy.
For i know in my heart,
A new family we will both start.
So my little bundle of Joy,
I'm waiting and I still have your toy.
