I had sins once but God he say
'forget about it kid'
I'd been so sad with worry
and heavy with troubles
That I became a Saint In The Gutter
a poor dead cat at my feet
I noticed everyone else was just so -
had big hearts all of their own
I cried then into my hands -
me alone at the side of the road
God he gave me milk and honey
said Love's Not My Lost Thing
'Lordy,' I say, 'why you make me break?'
'Kid,' He say, 'it's how it is -
I'm the maker, you're the breaker.'
