Just a silly teenage crush

just a silly teenage crush
runs its fast course in a rush
many shoulders wet with tears
many sympathetic ears
tired of hearing sobbed complaints
bound by childish love's constraints
daisies, violently deflowered,
magazines, their pages scoured:
'does he love you? find out now!'
'win him over - find out how!'
heated rollers, used in vain
instead of curls, created pain
used to make her appear nice
like some torturing device
giggled whispers: 'he's so fit!'
'are you mad? he's not a bit!'
these laughs were just a bright fa?ade
underneath she found it hard
at night she was finally his
enveloped in his tender kiss
then she woke, in sweat, to find
his love had just been in her mind
her parents told her she was wrong
'it's just a crush, it won't last long.'
'mountains out of molehills, dear,'
they said, as she attacked a tear.
A molehill's summit rises high
When viewed from a small ant's eye.
