Spring Time

April is here bringing with it the sun
Spring cleaning and clearing out still to be done
The windows now sparkle the grass is so green
The daffodils raise their heads so that they can be seen

Children playing skipping and handstands by the wall
Spring time is wonderful shunning Winter and Fall
Lambs go a~gambling and calves try to suckle
No more boots or big coats just sandals with a buckle

Holidays are being planned to hot and sunny places
But I like to stay at home and see the familiar faces
People walk and have a chat and give a friendly smile
They wonder in their gardens and have a rest for a while

The Spring makes a promise to bring the Summer sun
Which makes us all feel happy and remember warm weather fun
The hose is out and helping to grow baby seedlings in the ground
The colourful blooms and fragrant scents are plentiful an' abound

So all those sad glum faces can smile again for me
Because the sun is here to stay bringing blossom on the tree
Wedding bells will be ringing and children being born
It is the start of many cycles and a bright new dawn
