Lighthouse

Looking out
From this darkened room,
Led by half lit chimney stacks
Along the terraced line
Of sleeping houses,
To the overlooking lights
Of Barnsley hospital.

A chandelier of pain,
A lighthouse warning,
Of the days to come.
