CAMERA-READY
I am fit for an Indie-film
as my vision takes shots at odd angles
focuses on jarring flashes of a traffic light
and reflectors winking at me in surreptitious solitude.
I breathe in a black and white collage
as the two men lounging in front of me
speak in subtitles on an American highway.
The CD changes.
My theme song reverberates
throughout the scene played out by three passengers in a car.
Energy crackles through
eyes, mouths and ears.
Gratitude, serenity.
The techno beat forms a frame-by-frame way of life.
And I think what a great song for an Indie-film.
And the man in the passenger seat is fond of
rearview mirrors of the mind.
A re-run to my movie.
He echoes how this would be a great song for an Indie-film.
He means my film, of course.
The one playing in perpetual panorama:
Though not 20:20, it is close enough to capture
this moment.
Store it on a 35 mm brainwave.
Lock it in the vaults of my mind.
Until I wish to air it on primetime.
Or anytime I wish to take a ride.
