MISSING.
sneak
Catapulting wishes -
to the nearest star.
Desperation wonders,
wonders where you are.
Missing from these empty,
tired and weary arms.
Hands that know your beauty.
Your life in terror palms.
Callous stolen hours -
creep into precious days.
Faces worn by worry.
Months can only slay.
Seconds tick in anger.
Each stolen moment taunts.
Empty bedrooms echo.
Childish laughter haunts.
The telephone sprays bullets.
Each ring a chilling shot.
To gain a fleeting moment,
we'd gladly take the lot.
And silence only renders -
a place for thoughts to dwell.
Summer turns to autumn -
as shadows cast their spell.
Moonlit showered windows.
Faces freeze the frame.
The silhouettes of victims,
screaming pure pain.
And all our thoughts and wishes,
won't alleviate their plight.
We sleep while they endeavour -
to find their missing light.
