Long after I'm gone

Today it is raining
Oh! Raining really heavy
All the goodness of nature
And blessings of heaven above
Are pouring down&;#8230;angelically
On God's green earth.
Standing in the midst of my garden
Walking alone on wet grass,
Tickling so softly my bare feet.
Feeling the pure fragrance
Of oh! So colorful flowers
Amidst my own little heaven
I feel blessed
To be alive as whole.
Oh no! What if I wouldn't have eyes?
All this would have been teasing&;#8230;
I can see yes! A frightened butterfly
Hiding below the hibiscus leaf.
And oh that! A squirrel with a nut
In her hidey-hole on mango tree.
All these silent green friends
Shaking off pearls of water from leaves,
And oh my! Isn't that a rainbow?
There see!
Close eyes.
Feel now.
Oh God! What is this?
Nothing! Endless empty black!
And water and more water
Dripping down my body.
Oh please! I beg you!
Give me my heaven back
Un huh!
This thought shocked me to the bone!
Just few dreadful moments dear
And you are yelling like foghorn
Yet millions of earthlings live this way
With nothing but empty black
Eating their heart, spirit and soul out.
They don't yell
They don't scream
They don't make a noise
I never knew
I never thought
Oh! I never realized
I have something special
My eyes.
When my moment will come someday
To pay the debt of nature,
I will gift my eyes to him
Who is now living this sorrow
Oh then he will witness
This beautiful rainfall tomorrow!
As I'm doing today
Yes someday
Long after I'm gone
