The Perfect Answer

It's the perfect evening for it,
everything's ready-
I've lit the candles, the fire
and the champagne's on ice.
All I need to do now
is wait for you.
I hope you like the dress, the red one...
and the meal of course.
I've spent all day over it,
you see I can't afford for anything
to go wrong tonight.
For two years I've waited
for this moment to be with you.
Perhaps I'm being too hasty
but I know that if I don't tell you now
I'll have missed the chance
to spend the rest of my life with you.
You're standing on my doorstep
dressed in your suit with flowers for me.
Looking at you, I know you're perfect.
I bring you in from the cold
and we sit and eat.
I'm waiting for the right moment.
