You and Me

I did not bring you here,
You delivered yourself.
The only plan you followed,
Was your own.
I did not compel you,
Or tell you to build.
I gave you the playground of necessity,
I do not recall telling you to step outside its boundaries.
They were your choices,
Not mine.
How am I to blame?
I am guilt free,
I am the innocent,
It is you,
You are the guilty.
If it was meant to be,
Why do you not accept it?
You feel anger,
You know it was your fault,
But in your last instant you,
You turn to me and point the finger of charge.
I will take your guilt,
Only because it is my way,
The way it has always been and will be.
I offer you no excuses when I wrong,
But defend you when you do harm.
Is this how it will go on?
This relationship between you and I,
Filled with half-truths and empty promises.
Although you refuse to admit it,
I know the significance I play in your life,
And I know the denial you have for that.
You deny my role stronger than you denounce education, racism,
inequality and religion.
Still that is the price I pay,
The price for being,
Your Father.
