Edwardton is a small town just east of the Great Mountains; right in the middle of the Rolling Prairie. One of the most lonesome young children in the town was Conner; a short but fit boy with medium brown hair and hazel-green eyes. Conner was a totally normal boy, sheltered even, untill one day on his way home from school he noticed a very peculiar boy just older than himself, following him home. Though he noticed, Conner tried his best not to show it, he wanted to just rush inside but to his dismay his elderly neighbor Mrs. Whitfield stopped him to talk about what flowers she wanted to plant next spring. The stranger stayed just across the street, just staring! Calvin could see his three inch spikey white hair pointing in every direction, his skin was nearly just s pale, both just gleaming in the light. The sun was so bright as he stared into it, he appeared to be little more than squinting eyes.
That night Calvin had strange dreams of his new stalker. The next day he found himself consistantly glancing over his shoulder looking for this other boy. Calvin got to the corner just by his house and turning around one last time.. a van pulled up behind him from out of nowhere, took him and took off!
Curled up in the fetal position, with his feet tucked where the passangers seat should have been, lay a giant monster with sweat hairy pale skin and only one big round eye centered in his face. Which stared at Calvin as he held his whole torso with only one hand inches from the one eye, breathing slowly but heavily. The blonde stranger from before looked back from the front seat with a smile. He went on; "I've been watching you for some time now and can see that you don't even know it yet but I have reason to believe that you are going to be in for one hell-of-an awakening. You are supposed to be great, you know? So I want to be the first to offer you a chance to work for me; like second-in-command, and don't worry there's no daedline, my offer won't expire. Just know that it has been put on the table." He continued to stare for just a moment, smiled, and turned back around to the road to drive. I felt the vehicle accelerating at an intense rate and turning sharply, followed by a screeching hault. The stranger reached back to open the side-door and as the creature released Calvin back into the street, the strange boy explained how he once had a noble title but now refer to him as Gabriel.
SYNOPSIS
Conner lifted himself off the concrete he had been tossed onto. There was nothing about Gabriel or his off you could call appealing. Conner had no idea what to do or think of such an experience, so he thought he better consult his dearest friend Jimmy; who owned the bookstore down the street. Jimmy(say Morgan Freeman) explained how the monster sounded as if it were an ogre; the giants of the night, although having only one eye was a rare attribute, and that specific ogre could be refered to as Cyclops. Jimmy understood that this was all not trouble Conner had brought upon himself in any way but rather trouble that had sought him out. "I've come across something thatmy heart now tells me , truely belongs to you, I hope it will be the help that you require in your times of need. It is extremely rare; this egg, or rather what's inside will grow to one day be your friend and companion, known as the 'king of beasts', here is your Gryphon! I also have a task to ask of you which should prove to be to your benifit.
An associate of Jimmy's will help you raise and train your gryphon so that together you can take on the world. He wrote down where the meeting place is and said to pack a bag as Conner wouldn't be returning home again this summer. He had wrapped the egg in a thermal blanket and put it in Conners pack, where it stayed all night.
The next morning Conner packed his bags and headed to that address on the far north side of town. The address was actually non-existant and lead Conner to the edge of town where a developing neighborhood lead into the forrest. The address would have only been three blocks into the forrest, so Conner desided to start the venture. Conner was thinking he was about two blocks in when he felt force on the back of his knees strong enough to bring him down. Then he grabbed Conner by the hair whilst he pressed his blade against Conners throat, he explained; "I believe it's time to turn around and go back where you came from!"
"Aren't you a friend of Jimmy's?" Conner asked; "I'm here to meet someone is that why you here? Did Jimmy ask you to meet me maybe?" The shorter than average stranger
