This is lovely ScoZen. The demise of snow people is always poignant and somehow you have also managed to capture the portent that this seems to herald. Well done indeed.

The snowman in our garden
The snowman in our garden this year ended up resembling a massive white cock, that slowly drooped in the thaw.it was all very sad. Good poem.

Who knew that the death of a snowman could read so beautifully! Strong writing, dear scoZen, so few words, expertly placed, to offer such an immediate and clear picture of a brief moment on a winter's day. Bravo and thank you.

Wish I could. Looked at the temperature outside the other day before leaving for work. We didn't have one (Ron White) He was in our neck of the woods when he said that on one of his shows.
Single digits here and with wind chill factored in -forget it. We had 70mph winds last week.
Leave a bottle of water in the car and it freezes solid in no time at all. Guess that's handy if your refrigerator goes on the fritz.
On the flip side 3 days later it hit 56. We were in shirt sleeves not parkas.
Lots of Flu here 3 varieties according to CDC. I wonder why? lol
Anyway Snowmen like it here.(usually.) once again-nice work...Wes
