Bedtime story

As we walk in the park
Hand in hand
I show you that hollow tree
Where the old guard lives
He looks after the gate
Between the worlds up and below
Hush! Don’t disturb him!
He is very important
As he collects the raindrops
In early mornings and late evenings
Puts them in his little basket
Very carefully. Look!
Only those ones are good
That have rainbow in them
Then he takes them down
To his strange world below
Back to his little people
- And then what happens?
Tiny people’s tiny fingers
Work very clever and fast
Sorting the colourful water-beads
And putting all the light-beams
Into special stones deep down
Underground
That’s how they create
Ruby, amethyst and diamond
To make your pretty eyes sparkle
When you see them all
