Fairytale Ending

The fairy greets the dawning day
and puts her slippers on
she makes a cup of fairy tea
and pops out to the shops.

She needs to buy the things that go
into her fairy spells,
she skips along the poundshop aisle
plucking items from the shelves.

Thistledown and fairydust
are on her shopping list
for she has lots of spells to cast
before by her prince she can be kissed.

I should have put my wellies on
the fairy cries at last,
for the heavens they have opened
and the rain is pouring past!

The fairy hails a taxi home
and lo! to her surprise,
the driver is a princely chap
and this does light up her eyes.

There'll be no need for fairy spells
or giddy soaring flight
for she's been picked up by her prince
and he has dimmed his For Hire light.

He drops her off she asks him in
to share her fairy tea,
the princely cabbie parks his vehicle
and says will you marry me?
