Mass media communications

To watch them climb up that ladder
Unroll sheets of
advertisements
And brush glue across a surface
And I
wonder how long it will last
And I wonder what product they'll
sell
If they were smart, they'd adjust
The
advertisements for the environment
The billboard exists in,
when they don't
An opportunity is lost, selling a
service
In a part of town where no one
is
Willing to buy, and am I dislocated
Am I
somewhere people neglect to
Realize or appreciate my talents,
my
Gifts? And if so what do I do about that
Become
like the people surrounding me
Or confidently take
more authority
With the limited expression I
have;
The glue dries and the sheet unravels
You have
to maintain, exercise your
Voice in this world, if the
billboards
Were digital, and they
changed
The message electronically, the
Meaning of
the physical labor &;amp;
Work that went into placing
them
Is lost, cost takes priority
over
Integrity, do you take
shortcuts,
Drugs, sell yourself short or
Take the
road less traveled
Are you lazy? To sit on the
Ground
and look up towards
The sky &;amp; the billboard
the
Only ominous display of capitalism
In small towns
without skyscrapers
To eclipse those, profound
the
Way in which money looms over
Us to the
point where it is more
Important than we are,
trivializing
Relationships, but it doesn't
Matter
because I have to climb
Up, press forward, escape reality
