GIVE ME WHAT I WANT!

I hear the gate push open.
He walks quickly down the steps.
I have got all excited;
Thinking what might happen next.

I have waited a long time,
For this moment to arrive.
If he gives me what I want,
I'll feel thrilled to be alive.

I rush towards the front door.
I'm wearing a silly grin;
Due to my sheer excitement.
Soon he starts pushing it in.

I move down towards the floor,
And then what do my eyes see?
Just a sad bit of junk mail,
That the postman's given me.
