The Birthday Gift

The Birthday Gift

Today all of my friends have gotten together to decide how I will
celebrate my birthday this year. Every year they call each other and
make plans, then they tell me what I will be doing. It's not a surprise
party; it's more like a surprise holiday. One year we all went skiing,
another time we went to Mexico, and a third time, we went to a museum
in Canada. This year my friends have promised that I will be partaking
in something really different.

Today I got up and waited for my friend to visit me. Every year like
clockwork one of my friends comes at 10a.m.on my birthday, this year
something different happened, nobody came. Time continued to pass and
it got later and later I began to worry and to think that they had
perhaps forgot about me. I tried to call my friends but I was not able
to reach any of them. A short while later, a messenger arrived with a
package for me. I signed for it and he left.

I opened the box immediately to see what was inside. I found a small
tiger with a note. The note said that the tiger was a clue and if it
lead me to the right place I would find another clue and eventually a
big surprise. This perplexed me and I thought to myself that the only
place a tiger could be is the zoo. I proceed to the zoo and headed
straight for the tiger's cage, there I found a note and an umbrella
pinned to the outside fence, similar to those found in tropical drinks.
The note said to head to The Paradise Grill and ask for Jim.

When I arrive at the Paradise Grill, I asked for Jim and he immediately
brought a drink with one of those little umbrellas in it. I turned the
umbrella upside down and found my next clue. It said two silver coins
and three clowns get you a prize. There was an arcade up the boardwalk
so I went there to see if they had a clown game. I played the clown
game and took my tickets to the counter. I was given a balloon for a
prize. I walked outside and up in the sky was a blimp. Written on the
blimp was happy birthday meet at the reef for dinner.

When I arrived at the reef for dinner all my friends were already
there. I was lead to a table where a group of people was all wearing
costumes. I knew these had to be my friends because one person was
dressed as a tiger, one had on an umbrella hat and the other three were
clowns.
