"I'm ready dear!" I shouted
As I walked up to the car
He smiled his disapproval
Not pushing me to far
"The black's ok, it slims your curves
And dulls, the greyness in your skin!
Your hairs a little stiff
Do you think you'll squeeze it in?"
I smiled in sweet surrender
Whilst biting on my tongue
We've been married, sixteen years
And still he gets it wrong
His compliments are all the same
He's heavying the blow
I thrash about with reason
As he back-peddles real slow
"I wouldn't usually mind
Your wearing that old dress
It's the bosses do my dear
I was hoping to impress!"
We headed off in silence
As he lectured on polite
Not that I was listening
I had other plans insight
Eventually we got there, late!
And he was rather cross
He grabbed my hand, and purse
And made a beeline, for his boss!
"Good evening sir, and how are you?
She's, the one behind my shoes!"
My ears began to beacon
And my rage began to ooze
"Good evening, my husbands boss!
And don't his shoes look great?
They take the focus of his face
And the fact he's put on weight
So sorry we're late
I have to drag him from the car
Since he's had the snip
He's a little testy, about the scar
Have you seen his tie?
It's really, quite revealing
It screams, he's colour blind
And his intellect is leaving
It has been, so nice to meet you
You're not at all, as he portrays
Ok, you're decor, is a little dated
And your wife's seen better days
But, overall I'm glad I came
And gave into his summon
After all is said and done
I am his little woman
