Want You

I have oftentimes heard the words
I want you, I need you, I love you
But in what way, what shape, what form
I am quicksilver in a quicksand lake
My words lively and witty
Unexpected in mercurial and unpredictable double-talk
Do the meanings race through your mercenary veins
Exciting your laodicean blood as it pumps primal
Fast acting and strong-willed with each thumping heartbeat
I am golden apricot jewels in lapis lazuli tones
Offering pleasurable hours of enameled steel plate enchantment
The wild honied rush, sweetly thick, an exotic hired gun
I am winter's winding wings
Spreading over coldblack frozen waters
Guarded gateway to dark unknown recesses
Foundation frenzied in my dizzying depths
Are you night-glow sinking
Fastly deep below the overflow of my sparkling surface
I am the improbable blue noontime sky
Sunstreaks on the unclothed underbelly of white cumulus clouds
Puffed up, voluminous and full of themselves
Glinting goldspun cotton candy
Are your daydream imaginations a daliance
Nothing more than a flirtation, a trifling episode of wasted time
A delicate delinquency whose fingers lack the ability
To touch my delusions of grandeur
One grey area question remains to be answered
Are you sure you want me, need me, and love me now
