Alone is a powerful sentiment to have.
To find yourself devoid of human contact.
Its effects on the psyche are disturbing.
With no one to tell you what you see,
How do you know anyone sees it too?
Afraid is a powerful feeling to have.
Not to know, or more scary, to think.
The mind makes imaginative leaps when cornered.
When somebody's telling you what they can see,
What do you know when you can't see it too?
Aflame is a powerful thing to be.
But touching others doesn't always cause them to catch light.
Your world must be very hot when you are on fire.
And when you're dancing and grinning for all to see,
Don't be surprised when they look away, too.
Ashamed is a powerful thing to be.
Be it.
