GWYRCH CASTLE

How could it be allowed to happen,
After nearly two hundred years,
Sitting nestled in the hillside.
Gwrych castle sits in ruins.
How could it be allowed to happen?

With all these national agencies, sitting, watching, waiting,
For what? The last stone to fall down into the heap.
Generation after generation knew when they saw the castle sitting there
they were in North Wales.
How could it be allowed to happen?
Is all effort now too late?

The Holyhead traffic must smile to itself saying,
' fancy! Allowing ones history to be wiped out.
In Ireland the leprechauns would help out.
They would go cap in hand to the Bush's Kennedy's and Clintons,
Anyone with cash to spare!
for what at one time would have been a small amount.
As time goes on the damage is greater and cost is higher.
How could it be allowed to happen?
What did we join the EU for?
Was it not a central pot?
To divide out when needed
Treasures may have been lost in Iraq!
But what about our Gwyrch?
How could it be allowed to happen?
