There's a Zebra crossing in our lives
where things are no longer
plain black and white
nor do they run
in straight forward lines
Edged by a rim of fear
of being the prey
Where the Lion king of criticism paces
amidst the wasted land
There's a Zebra crossing
it's zig zagged coat of camouflage
a mirage in the haze
hides the mule from
from the naked eye
As utterings of courage
seep from a distilled store
a safari world of words are pillaged
amongst the tundras of poems
The power that flows
from pen to paper
colours a picture of aspiration
in an arid world where fluidity is scarce
so speaks in words
that only the Zebra understands
