Remember Me.

Will you remember me when I am through ?
Will you ?
You, my part-time, low paid body bearer
Lifts me from my bed and watches over me
Ancient carcass, heavy burden
Cleans me up and feeds me bread and jam and tea
Do you know, and do you care, my young and careless, carefree
carer
Who I am, and what I used to be
Do you ?
Yes, it's true, I'm nothing special
Never changed the tide of human progress
Paced the corridors of power
Faceless face amongst the common shower
Did my bit for King and country
Fought the battles of my generation
Cannon fodder for the foe
Joined the ranks of voiceless nation
Never really heard
In battles now it seems somewhat absurd
Do you know and do you care, my young and careless, carefree
carer
Who I am, and what I used to be
Will you remember me when I am through ?
Will you ?
You, my friend,my one and only mentor
Tends my feeble, failing body
Comforts me upon my final hour
My time is done, I take my cue
My book of life is overdue
Do you know, and do you care, my young and careless, carefree
carer
Who I am, and what I used to be ?
Everything I did, I did for you
Will you remember me when I am through ?
Will you ?
